Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words...introducing SEAL!
Born April 28. 2011, Seal was #7 out of 10 beautiful, healthy puppies. Seal is an absolute sweetheart with lots of attitude and drive! At just 11 months old, she won her first Best of Breed rising out of the puppy class to defeat the Special (A PWD that has already achieved Champion status) Less than two months later, Seal finished her Championship at the tender age of 18 months, was awarded the coveted Grand Champion title~
We can't wait to see what she'll do next...
MIKA
AKC Champion Wayfarer Pure Karma RN THD CGC Service Dog.
AKC’s # 2 ranked PWD in Rhode Island!
Mika, which means “gift from God” in Hebrew, was named by my son Mason, and she truly is! She is a registered service dog and has a canine good citizen award.
Mika came into our lives on November 2, 2007 and since then nothing has been the same! Mika is not only our beloved dog, but also my best friend and trusted Registered Service Dog. Mika, which means “gift from God” in Hebrew, was named by my son Mason, and she truly is!
In addition to being a wonderful companion, Mika is also quite accomplished! At a young age of 6 months, she earned her Canine Good Citizenship (CGC) which is awarded by the American Kennel Club. Then at just 16 months old, Mika earned her certification from Delta Pet Partners as a Therapy Dog.
From there, I began to show Mika as an Owner/Handler in dog shows across New England, where she has earned many ribbons including our very first Best of Breed!
Mika was finished by PH. Rick Krieger and awarded her Champion status with 3 straight Majors in just under 2 months!
However, Mika is not just a pretty face! The summer of 2009 we had the great privilege of competing at the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America’s (PWDCA) National Specialty which was held at Rend Lake in Illinois, where Mika earned and was awarded with a Rally Novice (RN) title for obedience.
I have to say that Mika’s most amazing job and accomplishment thus far has been with the children in our community as a Reading Rover Companion, where she eagerly and patiently listens to stories read by children of all ages. Mika also visits numerous patients in nursing homes where she is a welcome site and always a favorite!
I am also honored to say that Mika and I have joined forces with Rhode Island Home & Hospice as a Pet Partner Team in providing comfort to patients in their time of need.
